How to Use SilkVie Hair Buns: Step-by-Step Tutorial

SilkVie Hair Buns are designed to give you beautiful, effortless curls with minimal effort, but like any new technique, they may take a bit of practice to perfect. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you get the most out of your SilkVie Hair Buns. With some patience, you’ll be rocking gorgeous curls in no time!

Step 1

Start with Clean, Slightly Damp Hair

SilkVie works best on clean hair that’s slightly damp, not dripping wet. If your hair is dry, you can lightly mist it with water or a leave-in conditioner to add a touch of moisture. This helps the curls set better.

Step 2

Divide Your Hair into Two Sections

Part your hair down the middle to create two even sections, one on each side of your head. You can use a comb or your fingers to do this—whatever feels easiest for you.

Step 3

Place the SilkVie Rod Behind Your Hair

With the scrunchie part of the rod on top, position the SilkVie rod behind the section of hair. This setup will help create that perfect curl shape as you wrap your hair around it.

Step 4

Wrap Your Hair Around the Silk Rod

Begin wrapping your hair around the silk rod. When done, bring it around the front in the shape of a donut keeping the scrunchie cap in the middle. Take your time here—it might feel tricky at first, but you’ll get the hang of it with practice. Make sure the hair is wrapped smoothly for the best curl results.

Step 5

Secure with the Scrunchie Cap

Once your hair is fully wrapped, open the scrunchie cap and cover the "donut" securing it in place. This keeps everything snug and prevents the bun from unraveling as you sleep or go about your day.

Step 6

Repeat on the Other Side

Repeat steps 3 to 6 on the other side of your head. Remember, it’s okay if it’s not perfect the first few times; you’ll find your rhythm.

Step 7

Leave in Overnight or for at Least 4 Hours

For the best, long-lasting curls, wear your SilkVie Hair Buns overnight or for a minimum of 4 hours. The longer you leave them in, the more defined your curls will be.

A Few Tips:

  • Don’t worry if it doesn’t look perfect on your first try; practice makes perfect.
  • Experiment with slightly adjusting how tightly or loosely you wrap your hair to find the curl style you love.
  • If you have layers, tuck in any loose ends to keep the style tidy.

With a little patience and practice, you’ll soon be waking up to gorgeous, bouncy curls—effortlessly!
